And while your body issues aren’t debilitating, they are slowing you down. It’s like towing a trailer with your car – from the outside, the car seems to be moving fine, but inside, the engine is forced to work harder and burns more fuel just to maintain the speed limit.

Keeping up with your everyday life is taking more and more energy, both mental and physical and if something doesn’t change soon, your minor detour will escalate to a major road closure.

gini037gini037gini037gini037Hi, I’m Gini, former dancer, mind-body fitness and wellness teacher with more than 17 years experience, and founder of Rock What’s Yours.

gini037There was a time when I was really frustrated {not to mention a little embarrassed} that, despite having taught mind-body fitness for 10 years and leading an active life, I was still struggling with much of the same body jackassery as most of my clients. I wrestled with chronically tight shoulders {the gateway drug to tension headaches} and a wonky left hip, whose issues trickled down to my knee and ankle, eventually ousting me from all cardio training. I sat, most grumpily, on the sidelines for nearly 9 months!

I was still able to teach {nobody could tell how uncomfortable certain movements were for me} and do most everything else in my life, but the underlying discomfort and subtle movement limitations, were ever present in my mind and a growing distraction from the things I loved and for which I wanted to be fully present.

Around the time I hit my personal breaking point, I began experiential {read: hands on} anatomy training and learning the science of using mental imagery to improve movement training. I began to incorporate my newly acquired skills with my previous decade’s experience and quickly found a path back to my old – Except, it was new and even better! – active life.

All of this is to say, I’ve been where you are and turned things around for myself. I’ve spent the last 7+ years helping people just like you regain a sense of control over their body and I can help you do the same so you can get your active life back on track. Are you ready?

Is a Mind-Body Social like having a group exercise class at my house?

A primary difference between a Mind-Body Social and an exercise class is that YOU will decide which exercises we’ll be doing based on your Movement & Me form. The Social is not one-size-fits-all, it is customized to your needs.

Additionally, the Social is designed for you to discover your Personal Movement. During the Social, you’ll become keenly aware of how you most commonly move your joints and use your muscles so you can discern more easily when you’re performing an exercise with your best function to increase efficiency and prevent unnecessary injuries.

Finally, we’ll breakdown your favorite {and not-so-favorite} exercises and get to the heart of their purpose – the WHY behind each exercise. Once you understand the goal of an exercise, it increases your ability to do it well, maximizing your long term results.
